Se gestite un'azienda che intrattiene rapporti con banche, broker, piattaforme di pagamento o investitori, potreste aver ricevuto la richiesta di un codice chiamato LEI (Legal Entity Identification). Pu\u00f2 sembrare un termine tecnico e si rischia di liquidarlo come un'ulteriore formalit\u00e0 burocratica. Tuttavia, il Legal Entity Identifier \u00e8 diventato silenziosamente uno dei documenti di identit\u00e0 aziendale pi\u00f9 richiesti al mondo, e comprenderne il significato richiede solo pochi minuti, evitando cos\u00ec molti malintesi in futuro.<\/em><\/p>\n

La versione semplice<\/h2>\n

Il codice LEI \u00e8 un codice di venti caratteri che identifica in modo univoco la tua azienda nei sistemi finanziari e normativi di tutto il mondo. L'apertura di determinati conti bancari aziendali, la negoziazione di titoli, l'utilizzo di piattaforme di investimento, la partecipazione ad alcune transazioni regolamentate e il rispetto di diverse normative in materia di rendicontazione possono tutti far scattare questo requisito. Con l'inasprimento della regolamentazione finanziaria e la crescita del commercio transfrontaliero, sempre pi\u00f9 istituzioni semplicemente non effettuano transazioni con aziende che non ne sono in possesso. Se vi \u00e8 stato richiesto, di solito \u00e8 perch\u00e9 una banca o una piattaforma dall'altra parte del confine ne ha bisogno per adempiere ai propri obblighi di conformit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Come si fa ad averne uno?<\/h2>\n

\u00c8 possibile ottenere un codice LEI tramite un emittente accreditato o tramite un agente che collabora con uno di essi, fornendo i dati della propria azienda, che vengono poi verificati rispetto al registro nazionale delle imprese. Una volta emesso, il codice \u00e8 valido ma deve essere rinnovato ogni anno per rimanere attivo, e un codice LEI scaduto pu\u00f2 bloccare le transazioni, proprio come un codice LEI mancante.
