L'identifiant d'entit\u00e9 juridique (LEI) est n\u00e9 de la crise financi\u00e8re de 2008. La n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'un LEI se r\u00e9pand aujourd'hui, car de plus en plus d'entreprises l'exigent. L'ouverture de certains comptes bancaires professionnels, les transactions sur titres, l'utilisation de plateformes d'investissement, la participation \u00e0 certaines op\u00e9rations r\u00e9glement\u00e9es et le respect de diverses obligations de d\u00e9claration peuvent tous d\u00e9clencher cette obligation.
